August 21st, 2008:

Hey everyone. Been a very long time since we've had a moment to write an update here, so much going on. We're very excited to have just released our newest record, A Memory Stream, and also played our first live show at Monkeytown in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, an ideal setting for our first show. A clip from that show is available on youtube and through our myspace and last.fm. We appreciate your kind remarks on our newest album, we're glad that our fans seem to be as happy with it as we are, it's always excellent to see that. We have the new album on sale both on cd and over on iTunes, as well as our first t-shirt available through our myspace and at live shows. Also coming up soon are shows with excellent acts including Caspian, Lymbyc Systym, Yndi Halda, This Will Destroy You, Moving Mountains and Joy Wants Eternity. We are excited and grateful to immediately be playing with such excellent acts that we respect and admire. Thanks to everyone for their continuing support, we really appreciate it,
John and Rich

It's been a while since our last update as usual. We were busy completing our newest work, A Memory Stream, which will be released on August 19th, 2008, with a presale beginning here on the site today. We've also been busy preparing a live set for everyone! No confirmed dates as of yet, but some should be posted soon. Check out the new album's preview in the discography section or full track previews at www.last.fm/music/the+american+dollar. We will also have a t-shirt presale very soon to be shipped the same day as the August release. We thank you for your continued support! John and Rich

Friday, 14th September 2007:

Hello. It's hard to believe it's been a year since this website was first created. It still feels like yesterday when we were thanking our friend from France for doing such a great job with it. Time moves on(we still work together, as you will see), and we have some exciting news for you...

We've been very busy with a number of projects. Our primary focus over the last month has been crafting the original segments of the soundtrack for the short film "Officer Down", written and directed by Richard Recco. To form the score, the editors included several pieces from The Technicolour Sleep, which was convenient for us because we were asked to create several original pieces for the film that had a fast approaching deadline to enter Sundance. Needless to say, they are finished, and the film will also feature a track from our forthcoming and still untitled third album called "Anything You Synthesize."

With regards to that aforementioned phonorecord, we're now about halfway done with the tracking. We're thinking it should be finished and released by the spring of 2008, an estimate based on how long it took us in the past to create and the current level of challenge outside life poses to recording time. We'll be very happy to release three full lengths in approximately three years if things go accordingly, and so far we're very happy with how it's coming out. We're putting more time into the process, forcing less, being more selective in our choices, and experimenting with new ideas.

And finally, another new track from the forthcoming album that was released on the Linus Records Exclusive EP entitled "The Slow Wait" has been beautifully featured by Fursy Teyssier (the man responsible for much of our artwork) in his short animated film called "Tir Nan Og". It is available to be viewed both on Youtube and on our last.fm page.

We're on all the major online music stores now, so please pick up our album(s) from us and/or them. Also, we'd like to make t-shirts but are unaware if you are interested. If you would be, please drop us an email at americandollarband@yahoo.com so we can figure out how many to get.

Thanks!

To Our Honored Guests,
Hello! There's alot going on lately, and we thank you for checking up and listening.
We're beginning the presale for our second album, The Technicolour Sleep, on February 6th, 2007,
produced by ourselves and mastered by Robert Hadley. You can pick it up from our discography section.
The album will ship on Saturday, February 17th.
We hope you might check it out, we (and others) think it kicks ass.

Secondly, we've just completed a soundtrack for the short animated film "Tir Nan Og" by French
artist Fursy Teyssier (www.lesdiscrets.com), an incredibly talented and thoughtful individual and friend
who also happens to be responsible for this website. The film is still in production,
and when it is finished, we'll let you know how/where to view it. This is also all part
of us beginning work on our third album by the way, which we've started
and will continue to work on throughout the year.

On a final note, take a look at www.last.fm/music/the+american+dollar when you get a chance,
we have a fresh track up there entitled "Time" from "The Technicolour Sleep".

Until next time, take care friends and enemies, and talk with you soon.
The American Dollar

Welcome to the new American Dollar website.
You can find here all the information about the band, downloads and discography.
This website has been made by Fursy Teyssier, a French graphic designer from south of France.

Write us and give us your comments in the contact section and get a glance at the myspace page.

The new album is now entering the mastering phase. It has been tracked and mixed, and will probably be released either at the end of this year or beginning of the next. In the meantime, grab the first at the disco section.
